The area behind my work finally filled with water after all the rain from the tropical storm and its become a booming ecosystem. I scooped up a few tadpoles and put together this set up to watch them grow into frogs or toads, not sure which yet.

State authorities issued an Amber Alert Wednesday for a Goldsboro teenager whom they believe was abducted by four unidentified people.

Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin, 16, is black, stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, pierced ears and a tattoo of the initial K on his left hand.

Goldsboro police said McLaurin, who also goes by the nickname “Little Ken,” was last seen around 1 p.m. Sunday.

His mother, Kim Best, said she reported him missing Monday after becoming concerned when he didn’t come home Sunday night. After hearing rumors that he had been abducted, she called police.

Investigators said McLaurin was kidnapped from the 700 block of Bain Street in the Woodcrest Housing Community and forced into a blue, older-model Buick or Lincoln by three or four black males.

Police did not release any further information. A spokesman for the city of Goldsboro said the Amber Alert wasn’t issued until Wednesday, partly because police had to verify the rumors.

Anyone with information about McLaurin’s disappearance should call 911, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol at *HP or the Goldsboro Police Department at 919-580-4243 or 919-705-6572 or Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.

If I have ever sent you a nice ask or reblogged something of yours and it made you happy for a second (or even if I haven’t; this is about helping him, not doing me a favour) for God’s sake just help now, help to find my friend Jason. Once we all grew beans in pots as part of a Biology experiment- the experiment failed miserably and made the whole lab stink, but his was the only bean that grew and he was actually pretty proud about it

He learned to knit as part of a school project where he had to learn a creative skill, and when a couple of people teased him about it he said “gender is a social construct” and carried on knitting like a badass

He loves the scene in The Great Gatsby where Gatsby throws all his silk shirts around and he and I used to giggle over it together

Once I asked him if he had a string of tinsel I could use in a photoshoot and he brought me a big cardboard box full of tinsel and fairy lights because he’s a helpful and lovely guy

He’s HUMAN and he needs our HELP and just PLEASE PLEASE FUCKING REBLOG THIS??? He’s been missing for four days now- when he went missing he would have been wearing his contact lenses and he won’t have had his (very thick) glasses with him so by now he’ll have had to take his contacts out and throw them away and he won’t be able to see well and oh God just please signal boost this

Road tripped to the University of Florida today, which is where I’ll be studying this Fall. On the way there my girlfriend was looking up things to do in Gainesville and one of the listings was for the University’s Natural History Museum. The museum includes this HUGE butterfly garden/enclosure with all of these exotic butterflies, moths, and plants.

Inside they have labs where they breed and study the insects and in one of them they happened to have a TON of atlas moths, which are my favorite moths. I’ve never seen one in person so to see so many and so up close was incredible. These things are huge.

Each one of those moths behind my girlfriend is alive.
